Last Friday, Spanner Re² GmbH held a big anniversary celebration with an open day to mark the 1000th biomass CHP power plant delivered. Minister of State and Deputy Minister President Hubert Aiwanger (member of the state parliament), was a guest and spoke very clearly in favour of wood gasification technology.

In his speech at the anniversary celebration of Spanner Re² GmbH, the Minister of State and Deputy Minister President emphasised the importance of wood as a domestic energy source and the important contribution it makes to the energy transition.
1 stere of spruce wood replaces 130 litres of heating oil
"Wood is sustainable, even available in increasing quantities due to forest conversion and an ideal substitute for fossil energy. One third of Bavaria is forested, with around 700,000 forest owners. One stere of spruce logs replaces 130 litres of heating oil and one tonne of wood pellets replaces over 450 litres of heating oil," said Aiwanger. A short study presented proved that wood heating even has a climate-positive effect, especially also because it replaces fossil fuels. "An increasing proportion of forests in Bavaria are underused and therefore overaged, which means that less CO2 is bound than in more vigorous young forests. Forests must therefore be used more, not closed down," Aiwanger continues.
Wood gasifiers from Spanner Re² convert waste wood into energy
The Lower Bavarian plant manufacturer has been active in the field of wood gasification since 2007. Re² was the first on the market to produce its proven wood gasifiers in series. In the meantime, the company can look back on 46.5 million operating hours of experience and more than 1000 installed biomass power plants worldwide.
The highly efficient wood gasification technology from Spanner Re² does not require premium wood to generate energy. With Re² plants, electricity and heat can be generated from residual materials such as forest residues, thinning wood, beetle wood or roadside greenery, as well as from waste wood, and decentrally wherever it is needed. This makes the plants particularly sustainable and perfectly rounds off the value chain of domestic resources.
Well-attended open day: environmentally friendly energy solutions are in demand
The open day shows how great the demand for environmentally friendly energy technologies is. Numerous visitors took the opportunity to find out more about the proven wood gasifiers from Spanner Re² GmbH. As part of the plant tours offered, the production facilities could also be visited - because the plant is manufactured directly at the Spanner Re² GmbH factory in Neufahrn, Lower Bavaria.
